How to fix frozen/stuck Microsoft Word

You will need admin permissions to install Word

Method One - Uninstalling/Installing

1. Open Control Panel by searching 'Control Panel' in the Start menu search bar.

2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.

3. Look for Microsoft Word, right click and uninstall.

Microsoft Office apps may not appear in the uninstall programs list if you chose to install them from the Office 365 app. Instead you will have to uninstall Microsoft Word a different way.

1. Open the Start menu.

2. Search in the search bar for Microsoft Word.

3. While still in the Start menu, click the down arrow underneath Microsoft word.

4. Click Uninstall.

Method Two - Windows Settings Repair

1. Open Settings from the Start menu.

2. Navigate to Apps and then select Apps & Features from the left-side menu.

3. Search for Office or Word, depending on which ones show.

4. Click either Office or Word and click Advanced options underneath.

5. Scroll down to Reset, under Reset choose the top option named Repair.
